‘Last night I cut this.
It’s a heart.
It’s for you.’
Deep in the night, in a lonely motel room somewhere in central Australia, six lost souls collide – haunted by the same tragic crime.
Angela Betzien’s The Dark Room is an intricately layered psychological thriller, exposing the startling mistreatment of those most vulnerable in our society, at the hands of those who are meant to protect them.
The play won the award for Best New Australian Work at the Sydney Theatre Awards on its premiere in 2011. It had its UK premiere at Theatre503, London, in November 2017.
