Set in Edinburgh, Buried Alive moves between the present day and the late 1970s of Stewart’s childhood. Gradually, the story of the nightmare imposed on Stewart and his two sisters by their deranged mother and ineffectual father unfolds. A psychological thriller about coming to terms with the past and the need for redemption and forgiveness.

Philip Osment has written and translated many plays for children and adult audiences alike. His translation of Giania Carbunariu's Kebab was produced at the Royal Court Theatre, London in November 2007.
