In 1934 the son of Melanie Klein, Britain's most admired psychoanalyst, was reported killed in a climbing accident. There were no witnesses. Nicholas Wright's play shows the effect of this shattering death on Mrs Klein, her daughter and on her new assistant Paula, a young refugee from Hitler's Berlin. Published alongside a major revival at the Almeida, twenty-one years after its National Theatre premiere.

How rare and refreshing it is to encounter a play which is so literate, intelligent, amusing and finally, moving -  Telegraph
