Just Adrian is a patchwork tour of a legendary playwright, poet and activist’s life in the theatre. It is a fascinating first-hand account of groundbreaking productions featuring figures like Kenneth Tynan, Peter Brook and Peter Hall as well as adventures in alternative theatre.

These writings explore Adrian’s many interests, from drama for children to musical theatre, in a voice that combines playful irreverence with compassion and insight. Taken together, they are a funny, moving testament to a great theatre lover.

A scrapbook [compiled] to reflect one man's love affair with the theatre… a splendid read that pays homage to an unusual, dedicated man -  British Theatre Guide

ADRIAN MITCHELL (1934 - 2008) was a  British poet and playwright  who  gained notice in the 1960s as a performance poet whose works — including the verse collections   Peace Is Milk  and  Out Loud  and the plays  Tyger: A Celebration Based on the Life and Work of William Blake, Mind Your Head , and  Man Friday  —   resonate with pacifism and his belief in the empowerment of the common man amid the politicized artistic environment of the 1960s and 1970s.
