Looking at the intertwined lives of a young couple, Morph explores the shifting dynamics of fear and desire.

Be is damaged goods. Bullish. Solitary. A one-time roughneck from the Manila oil-fields. Grace is a swan. Supple. Dedicated. A dancer at the very height of her powers.

A strange misalliance is in motion. And as the world outside continues to advance at breakneck speed, can Be and Grace rebuild their shattered defences in time to protect themselves from each other?

Author

Brendan Cowell is an actor and writer. He won the prestigious Patrick White Playwrights’ Award for Bed in 2001, and his play ATM was presented by the 2002 Sydney Festival. In 2003 he won the Griffin Award for Rabbit, which the company subsequently produced. Later that year, Frantic Assembly’s production of the play toured the UK for ten weeks to rave reviews (London’s Guardian called it ‘desperately funny’ and awarded it four out of five stars). Morph and his adaptation of Seneca’s Thyestes were both produced by Sydney Theatre Company’s Blueprints program. Cowell is currently working on a number of new commissions for theatre, film and television.

In 2012 Cowell was joint winner of an AWGIE award for Best Adapted Television Mini-Series for The Slap.
