DECLAN DONNELLAN was the first Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company Academy and is best known for his work with  Cheek by Jowl—the company he founded with his partner Nick Ormerod—including  As You Like It and Homebody/Kabul by Tony Kushner. As Associate Director of the National Theatre his productions included FuenteovejunaSweeney Todd and  Angels in America. His published plays include a version of Nikolai Erdman's  The Mandate and an adaptation of Charles Dickens's  Great Expectations.
