Biography

LIBBY HATHORN is an award-winning Australian author of more than forty books for children. Her work has been translated into several languages and adapted for stage and screen. She was awarded a Centenary Medal in 2003 for her work in children’s literature; her CDROM Weirdstop won the AIMIA Award (Australian Interactive Media Industry Awards) as Best Children’s Product of 2003; her picture storybook The River set in China, won the Society of Women Writers’Bi-annual Award for Younger Readers in 2003; and Over the Moon (2004) and The Great Big Animal Ask (2005) are both Australian Children’s Book Council Notable Books. Libby travels widely, talking about her work and Australian literature and her travels include Papua New Guinea, Great Britain, United States, South Korea, India, China and Vietnam. Within Australia, as an Australia Day Ambassador, Libby travels to country towns each year, where she talks about the importance of Australian literature.

ANDREW JOHNSTONE has written a number of plays including Doppelganger Doppleganger, Manifest and Asteroid Belt which was performed as part of the 2001 Australian Sitcom Festival by the Queensland Theatre Company. He also writes short stories and has completed two novels.
