Welcome to the resources section of our website for Teachers. At Currency we are aware of the demands made on teachers and understand that the lack of time and resources can be frustrating and stressful. We hope that this section can help you in the promotion and teaching of Australian drama and theatre.
Start by downloading our Syllabus Texts and Recommendations. It's easy to find out about our books through our fully searchable website, but if you prefer to browse through our titles away from your computer, download our full catalogue which has a brief synopsis of all Currency plays and information on other books we publish. As well as the full catalogue we have a New Titles catalogue as well as a series of individual catalogues on Stagecraft/performance manuals; Collections; Film books and screenplays and Cultural History. Similar lists of Adaptations (novels to stage) and Youth Drama are due soon, so stay tuned. If there is an area that is of particular interest to you, contact us so that we can help you.
We have several additions to the website planned for the coming months. Among them is the ability to search for Books by Syllabus Topics, which will enable you to find titles that match the syllabus guidelines and outcomes. We will also bring you a range of Classroom Resources, where teachers can share their experiences of using Currency books in the classroom. We'll include reviews written by teachers and students too. We encourage teachers to submit material for this section. Please contact us in the first instance.
Right now you can use this website to order inspection copies of our titles or browse the Study Guides that you can read online or download. To keep abreast of the topics of current concern in the Australian performing arts, check out our Speeches Online. If you are looking for a play with particular cast requirements, go to Choosing a play.
In our News section you will find a range of information about Currency books and authors, including recent prizes and awards they have won as well as productions of plays published either by Currency or by our agencies, Nick Hern Books and Oberon Books.
We want our website to be as user-friendly and informative as possible, so please contact us if you have any ideas for additions or improvements.
