EMILY SHEEHAN is an award-winning playwright and dramaturg. Her critically acclaimed play Monument premiered at Red Stitch Actors’ Theatre, directed by Artistic Director Ella Caldwell, and enjoyed a return season by popular demand followed by a national tour. Her play Frame Narrative opened Lucy Clements’ inaugural season as Artistic Director of The Old Fitz to multiple 4 and 5 star reviews, and is currently shortlisted for the Victorian Premier's Literary Awards. Her other plays include Hell's Canyon (Old 505 Theatre / La Mama Theatre / Regional Arts Victoria), Daisy Moon Was Born This Way (Q Theatre) and Versions of Us (Canberra Youth Theatre). Her plays have been developed by Melbourne Theatre Company Cybec, Playwriting Australia, Red Stitch Ink and New Ghosts. Awards include the Victorian Premier's Literary Awards (currently shortlisted), Rodney Seaborn Award (Winner), Patrick White Award (Finalist), Max Afford Award (Finalist), UK’s Theatre503 Award (Longlist), Griffin Award (Longlist) and the Melbourne Fringe Touring Award (Winner). She hosts the popular literary podcast, The Playwright’s Process Podcast.
