Katherine Zachest

KATHERINE ZACHEST has extensive experience in drama education in early childhood and primary school education. She is a lecturer in Drama and Creative Arts at Deakin University. She was invited on the panel to re-write the primary drama curriculum for the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority. Katherine has presented at national and international conferences and she is a sought-after speaker on the benefits of drama for young children. She is the author of Drama for Early Childhood which has been re-published in the UK, China and Estonia under the title Drama Games for Young Children. She is currently working in early childhood education as a drama specialist and is a Ph.D. candidate, exploring the role of drama to promote sustainability in early childhood education.
