JONATHAN GAVIN is a playwright, screen writer and actor who graduated from the acting course at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts in 1998. He has an Honours degree in Literature from the Australian National University. His plays include Bang, The Return, Aperture and Bender, Schmaltz, Sleepless Night, and A Moment on the Lips and Tiger Country. Gavin was one of several writers of the musical Breast Wishes, which had two national tours, and was one of six playwrights to undertake Griffin Theatre’s Emerging Writers’ Residency in 2005/06. He has won several awards including the 2003 Philip Parsons Young Playwrights’ Award and the 2009 Mitch Mathews Award.
