Featured in Intersection: Undercurrent by ATYP (Australian Theatre for Young People)
Dilroop Khangura is an emerging Indian-Australian actress and writer who was most recently selected to attend the prestigious National Studio with the Australian Theatre for Young People (ATYP). There she had the opportunity to create a 7 minute play. She also creates and performs in comedic sketches on her tiktok channel (@dilpoop), which has amassed 14.5 thousand followers and a total of 301 thousand likes. Additionally, she was awarded the Equity Foundation’s 2021 Home & Away Graduate Internship where she had the opportunity to not only sit in the writer’s room of Home & Away but also learn about how the show is produced and edited behind the scenes. Furthermore, in early 2022 she was selected as a participant for ATYP’s YUNGSTR program where she had the opportunity to get mentored by SBS The Feed’s Victoria Zerbst and The Chaser’s Charles Firth. This experience allowed her to develop her satirical writing skills and resulted in 2 political comedic sketches which aired on ATYP’s Facebook page and YUNGSTR’s YouTube channel.
